Transportation will be provided for the weekend

Transportation will be provided as round trip from Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station to La Foce, hotels nearby La Foce shared under accommodations, and hotels in Montepulciano town center. These three locations will also receive the option for transportation to all of our wedding events.

If you wish to take transportation from Florence to Montepulciano please let us know in your RSVP and plan to meet at Santa Maria Novella Train Station by 1pm on Thursday, June 26th. We will return to Santa Maria Novella on Sunday, June 29th around 2pm

Please note for all wedding events near the venue, due to local road restrictions transportation will be a small van. Depending on the number of guests needing transportation at one time there may be a decent wait time. We will try our best to accommodate everyone.

Renting a car

Although we are providing transportation, the best way to see Tuscany is by car. We highly recommend renting a car if you feel comfortable to give yourself freedom during your stay to explore the nearby towns of Tuscany.

Where to rent a car

There are two options for rental cars, you can rent a car near Florence train station and drive the 1hr and 30mins to Montepulciano area. Or you can rent a car in Chiusi, 10.7 miles from Montepulciano town center. Be aware you will need to find transportation to the rental cars in Chiusi once in the Montepulciano area.

If you are renting a car you will need an IDP

An IDP is an International Drivers Permit, you will need this to rent a car in Italy. It is easy to apply and can receive the same day. Please make sure to give yourself some time to do this before your trip incase of any delays. This can be done through AAA using the following link: https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html

Ubers are not available in Tuscany

Unfortunately, Ubers are not available in Tuscany and Taxi’s are hard to come by. If you need a private driver please let us know and we can connect you with our wedding planner.
