Which city should you fly into

While flying into Florence is an option, we also recommend flying into Rome or Milan and taking the high speed train to Florence. Transit time from Rome Leonardo Da Vince to Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station is about 2.5 hours with 1 transfer while Milan Malpensa to Florence is a little over 3 hours with 2 transfers.

How to read an Italian train ticket

To read an Italian train ticket, look for key details like the departure and arrival cities, train number, date, time, class of travel, and whether you need to validate the ticket before boarding. You will also need to know your carriage, look for the word "Carrozza" (which means carriage in Italian) on the ticket, and the number following it will indicate which carriage you need to board; this information is usually listed alongside your seat number on the ticket.

The Catholic Jubilee in Rome

While this should not directly impact your travel plans, please be aware that the Jubilee of Priests will be taking place in Rome from June 25 - 28th. Expect an increase in tourists & large crowds during the summer months due to the Jubilee. With the anticipated high demand, book flights, accommodations, car rentals, & tours well in advance.

How to convert your USD to EUR

In Italy cash is still the primary form of payment. We suggest you arrive to Italy with enough euros to get you through your first day. Once in Italy, the best conversion rate will be through an actual bank’s ATM like BLN. Avoid using ones that say Euronet as these are non-bank affiliated and charge outrageous fees!

What to pack for our wedding weekend

Attire is listed with each event on our events page. Thursday night welcome dinner will be cocktail attire. Friday winery tour is comfortable day-time clothes with Friday evening’s pizza party being formal / garden party chic. For Saturday we request you dress in Black Tie Optional. If you do not already have a tux please do not feel obligated to rent one, a black suit is just fine!
